Degree Programmes

Academic committees of the JGLS will be responsible for designing various degree programmes, as allowed by the Bar Council of India and the University Grants Commission. These may include a three year and a five year Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Laws (LLM), Doctor of Juridical Sciences (SJD), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes. The JGLS will formulate the selection procedure relating to admissions; develop syllabi for various courses in accordance with the rules and regulations; prepare teaching pedagogy and assessment techniques; and establish recognized research norms. Apart from degree programmes, the JGLS will also develop training courses for teachers, paralegals and other professionals.
