International Collaborations and Support
Academic institutions must
constantly reinvent themselves for facing the challenges of
globalisation through exchange and collaboration programmes. There
is a need to have a shared understanding of the nature of exchange
and collaborative programmes being established. It is then only that
such programmes could be effective and beneficial for all the
parties concerned. The proposed JGU and the JGLS have already
received letters of support and intention to establish institutional
collaborations from leading educational institutions in the world.
These include the United Nations University (UNU), the Harvard Law
School, the Human Rights Program of the Harvard Law School, the
Berkman Center for Internet & Society of the Harvard Law School,
Yale Law School, New York University School of Law, the University
of San Francisco School of Law, S.J. Quinney College of Law of the
University of Utah, William Mitchell College of Law, Massachusetts
Institute of Technology (MIT), University of Oxford, Kings
College, London, the University of Sydney, and Keio Law School.
Excerpts Relating to Collaborations and Support
The United Nations
University (UNU), the worlds first and only truly global
university, is pleased to support the establishment of the O.P.
Jindal Global University (JGU) in India. We believe that this
University will serve a valuable role in promoting highest
standards of research and education and will assist the need to
expand and advance more institutions of academic excellence in
developing countries...The JGU and the JGLS should always remain
global in thinking, global in recruiting, global in teaching
and global in standard application.

several areas where we believe that we might collaborate. One
such area is research. A potential topic could be the future of
Internet and democracy, in light of Indias position as not
only a technology but also the worlds largest democracy.
We are also interested in issues related to technology and

In the relatively short
period in which I have been involved with this project I have
seen it developing at an impressive speed. The Jindal Global Law
School has now established relations with some of the more
important Law Schools in the world. And it is only right, I
believe, that I and my colleagues should also lend our support
to this project. Oxford is particularly well placed to help such
an initiative due to our strong graduate programmes, the BCL,
the M Jur and the D Phil
There is every prospect that in
the fullness of time Jindal Global Law School will come to be
seen as one of the leading Asian institutions and as a natural
partner to every other major law school with global ambitions.

between our two institutions, especially in terms of research
and post graduate education

other, areas
There are numerous specialties but probably
the most popular are the LLM in International Financial Law, LLM
