Events Hosted by JGLS and JGU

Since its establishment in 2009, Jindal Global University (JGU) has played host to many major events that have been attended by distinguished luminaries from around the world. The holding of these events at JGU attest to the prestige and respect the young university has already earned. Most recently, in April 2013, JGU was proud to welcome accomplished professor Michael C. Davis to JGU to present a lecture titled, “Federalism and the Case for China’s Democratic Development”. All of those who attended benefited from the knowledge that professor Davis imparted.

An especially rewarding event took place in March 2013, when the President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee was the guest of honor for the conference on “The future of Indian Universities: Comparative Perspectives on Higher Education Reforms for a Knowledge Society”. Renowned professors and government dignitaries attended the event and discussed the many new challenges that institutions of higher learning face in making the necessary transition to properly and effectively utilizing the extensive body of knowledge available in today’s society.

In February of the same year, Jindal Global Law School hosted a large conference on the “Globalisation of Legal Education and Legal Profession” as part of the Third Annual Meet of the Law Schools Global League. The conference featured leading scholars from around the world, including professors from Harvard, Cornell and University of Cape Town, to name a few.

Many other conferences, seminars, lectures, workshops and the like have been hosted by JGLS in its short but impressive history. These events contribute to Jindal Global University’s overall reputation as an elite research-oriented global university wherein students and faculty are exposed to the best minds in the academic world and participate in fostering knowledge for future global development. JGLS will continue to champion such events to nurture the students’ leadership qualities, preparing them to be at the helm steering the course for the next generation.
